Employment and Training: Sri City has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IL&FS Cluster Development Initiative Ltd, in Oct 2010 to establish a Skill Development Institute (SDI). The erstwhile Sri City HRD Academy established in the Year 2006 now upgraded to SDI under IL & FS. This Institute trains unemployed youth in a variety of skills like plumbing, tailoring & Security Services etc.
Overall, people from 14 local villages benefitted as the academy provides free of cost training to the local people in vocational skills, free meals and transportation provided to trainees, the Foundation also strives to find suitable jobs for these candidates through internal and external placements.
Furthermore, a large number of local people have been employed in Sri City Business Units in various positions like Security Guards, Supervisors, Nursery, BPO and Road works. The HRD training also helps people, particularly women in generating self- employment.
